Punjab Confirms School Schedule for Reopening

The Punjab School Education Department has officially confirmed the new school timings as educational institutions across the province prepare to reopen after a brief closure. This announcement aims to standardize operating hours for both public and private schools following the recent adjustments made due to the regional energy conservation measures and changing weather patterns.

Official Reopening and Weekly Timings

According to the notification issued by the provincial authorities, all schools in Punjab will resume their regular academic activities starting from the first week of April 2026. The department has meticulously designed the Punjab school schedule to maximize instructional time while ensuring the well-being of students and staff.

Standard Operating Hours

The revised timings are categorized based on the type of institution and the day of the week:

Boys Schools: Classes will commence at 8:00 AM and conclude at 1:30 PM from Monday to Thursday and Saturday.
Girls Schools: To manage traffic flow, girls institutions will open at 8:15 AM and close at 1:45 PM.
Friday Schedule: On Fridays, all schools will observe shortened hours, with dismissal at 12:00 PM to facilitate congregational prayers.
Double Shift Schools: The morning shift will run from 7:45 AM to 12:15 PM, while the afternoon shift will operate from 12:45 PM to 5:15 PM.

Guidelines for Private Educational Institutions
