Punjab Approves Free Rawalpindi Autism Center 2026

In a landmark decision to expand special education and pediatric health services, the provincial government approved the Punjab Free Autism Center Rawalpindi 2026 project. The administration sanctioned Rs 580.632 million to establish the Maryam Nawaz Satellite Campus for Autism in Rawalpindi. This specialized facility will provide completely free treatment, therapy, and developmental assistance to children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental conditions across the garrison city and surrounding northern regions.

For thousands of low-income families in the twin cities, securing affordable pediatric behavioral therapy has long presented immense financial hurdles. Specialized private rehabilitation centers often charge unsustainable fees, leaving special needs children without consistent care. The introduction of state-funded therapeutic services under the Punjab Special Education Department offers crucial relief, ensuring young learners access professional support without draining family savings.

Official project documents confirm that the Rs 580.632 million allocation funds comprehensive campus construction and specialized medical infrastructure. The contract for civil works will be awarded through open competitive bidding on November 4, 2026. Key development specifications include essential civil utilities, advanced security setups, and child-safe therapy rooms.

Expansion of Free Special Education Services Across Northern Punjab

This satellite campus builds upon the model established by the Lahore Autism Center, extending specialized government support beyond the provincial capital. By integrating behavioral therapy, speech rehabilitation, and occupational training under one roof, the facility bridges the gap between mainstream education and specialized healthcare.
