Punjab Announces Summer Vacations Due to Heatwave
The Government of Punjab has declared summer holidays for all schools across the province in response to the escalating heatwave. School Closure Dates
According to the notification, all public and private schools in Punjab will be closed from June 1, 2024, to August 14, 2024. This measure is taken to protect students from the anticipated severe heatwave expected in the coming week.
Adjusted School Timings Before Vacations
Prior to the summer break, the school timings have been adjusted to mitigate the impact of the heatwave. From May 18 to May 31, the schedule is as follows:
• Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM
• Friday: 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Reopening of Schools
All schools in Punjab, both government and private, will reopen on August 15, 2024. The notification applies uniformly to all educational institutions in the province.

The School Education Department has issued the official notification outlining the summer vacation dates and adjusted school timings for the period leading up to the holidays.
