Punjab Announces New School and College Timings
As the summer holidays for schools in Punjab nears its scheduled end on August 15, 2025, parents remain uncertain whether the Punjab government will officially extend the holidays. Despite growing speculation, there has been no formal announcement regarding any changes to the reopening date. A notification released in May 2025 indicated that both public and private educational institutions across Punjab would resume classes on August 15. However, since the 15th falls on a Friday, attendance is likely to be low, and academic activities may begin in full swing starting Monday, August 18.
Provincial Government Yet to Confirm Post-Vacation Plans
At present, the government has not issued any updated statement on the matter. Authorities have indicated that a decision on whether to prolong the holidays will depend on a thorough assessment of the prevailing weather conditions closer to the reopening date.
Revised School Timings for Punjab
The following school hours will be in effect when institutions reopen:
Single Shift Schools:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Double Shift Schools:
Morning Shift: Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM | Friday: 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Evening Shift: Monday to Thursday: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM |Friday: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
