The Office of the Registrar Academic Branch, Record Section at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, has issued an official notification dated May 18, 2026. This regulatory announcement details the implementation of the PU annual summer recess along with critical curriculum completion parameters across all university-affiliated blocks.
Academic Closing Timelines, Staff Attendance Mandates, and Final Semester Directives
The statutory operational guidelines outlined for the 2026 summer season are structured below:
Official Summer Recess Window: All University Teaching Departments, Institutes, Centers, Constituent Colleges, and Schools will remain closed for summer vacations from Monday, June 1, 2026, to Friday, August 28, 2026.
Essential Staff Deployment: While standard academic classes stand suspended, the notification clarifies that all administrative staff across the departments, institutes, centers, colleges, and school units must remain on duty as usual to manage ongoing institutional operations.
Graduating Semester Course Completion: The university management has strictly directed that all academic courses and final Exams for outgoing terminal semesters—specifically the PU BS 8th Semester admission 2026—must be entirely wrapped up before the official vacation start date.
Special Provision Accommodations: Under exceptional circumstances or special institutional needs, teaching departments, colleges, and schools are allowed to organize classes or conduct assessments for outgoing sessions during the holiday period. However, these outlier sessions require explicit, prior permission from the Vice-Chancellor.
