PU Announces Entry Test for Undergraduate Admissions 2026–27

Applicants seeking admission to undergraduate programs at University of the Punjab, Lahore, are informed that appearing in the PU Admission Test is compulsory. This test is tentatively scheduled for June 14, 2026, and serves as a key requirement for eligibility. Only those candidates who take this test will be allowed to apply for admission once programs are officially announced. The university has clearly stated that results from previous years’ admission tests will not be considered valid for the upcoming academic session. Eligibility Criteria for Test Applicants

These include Pre-Engineering PU-E, Pre-Medical PU-M, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences PU-AHS, ICS with Physics PU-CSP, ICS with Statistics PU-CSS, General Science PU-GS, and Commerce PU-COM. Each category is designed to assess candidates according to their specific field of study. The test contributes 25% weightage to the overall merit calculation, making it a significant component in determining admission eligibility across different undergraduate programs.

Application Procedure and Fee Details

Candidates must register online through the official admission test portal and generate a fee challan during the process. The test fee is set at PKR 2,500, which is non-refundable and cannot be transferred. Payments can be made through designated banks such as HBL and UBL or via mobile banking using 1Bill services. After payment, applicants are required to upload proof of transaction on the portal to complete their registration. Without submission of this evidence, the application process will remain incomplete and may lead to disqualification from the test.

Program-Specific Requirements and Test Centers

The admission test will be conducted in major cities across Pakistan, ensuring accessibility for candidates nationwide. Certain programs have additional requirements; for example, engineering admissions require compliance with PEC regulations, while law applicants must pass both LAT and the PU test. For programs like Doctor of Pharmacy, either MDCAT or the PU test is acceptable. Meanwhile, applicants to the College of Art & Design must also appear in a separate aptitude or drawing test.
