PSED Issues Strict Compliance Rules for Summer Camps 2026
The Punjab School Education Department has officially granted conditional permission for public and private institutions to conduct seasonal academic sessions from June 1 to June 30, 2026. To protect student health during extreme heatwaves, authorities have implemented a strict Punjab summer camp regulations framework. Under these executive orders, camps can only operate from Monday to Thursday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, with Fridays designated as mandatory closures. Furthermore, participation must remain entirely voluntary, requiring explicit prior parental consent before any student enrollment.
Financial Violations and Prohibitions on Additional Fee Collection
The regulatory body has issued a severe warning addressing recent compliance failures, explicitly barring institutes from exploiting families through unauthorized charges. According to the directive, private schools in Punjab extra fee violations will face swift legal penalties, as institutions are strictly prohibited from collecting additional funds or advance tuition fees under the pretext of managing summer camps. Similarly, government institutes and faculties are legally banned from collecting coaching fees. Any registered complaint regarding illegal financial exactions will result in the immediate suspension of the camp and the sealing of the school campus.
Health Safety Requirements and Climate Mitigation Protocols
To counter the seasonal heatwave, the School Education Department Punjab notification requires all academic and co-curricular activities to be held strictly indoors. School administrations are legally obligated to ensure full access to functional fans, clean drinking water, proper seating arrangements, and reliable electricity backup to handle load-shedding intervals. To maximize student comfort, uniform mandates have been suspended, allowing children to wear light, weather-appropriate clothing. District Education Authorities DEAs are actively inspecting campuses to ensure these safety protocols are implemented in true letter and spirit.
