Private Schools to Participate in National Achievement Test 2026
For the first time, the Ministry of Education and Professional Training has included private schools in the National Achievement Test NAT 2026, broadening the scope of Pakistan’s national learning assessment system. The students can get fresh updates of Private Schools to Participate in National Achievement Test 2026.
Introduction of Foundational Learning Assessment
The ministry also announced the launch of Pakistan’s first National Foundational Learning Assessment, aimed at evaluating early learning outcomes at the national level, according to an official statement.
Alignment with Global Education Goals
Education Secretary Nadeem Mahbub told the media that the national assessment framework has been aligned with the indicators of Sustainable Development Goal 4, which emphasizes quality education.
Assessment Details
The assessments will be conducted for students in Grades 5 and 8 across all provinces and regions. By including private schools, the government aims to obtain a more comprehensive and representative understanding of learning outcomes nationwide.
Participation and Methodology
Officials stated that over 20,000 students will take part in NAT 2026 and the National Foundational Learning Assessment. Participants will be selected through a scientific sampling process to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Background and Rationale
Referring to previous assessments, the education secretary highlighted that NAT 2023 revealed significant learning gaps. These findings prompted the prime minister to declare an education emergency in the country.
