Private Schools in Islamabad Reject for Winter Vacation Extension
Private schools in Islamabad have announced that they will reopen on Monday, January 6, with no extension to the winter vacation, despite the ongoing cold temperatures. The decision has been confirmed by the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority PEIRA, which also addressed concerns among parents regarding a potential holiday extension. Federal Schools to Resume Classes Later
Schools under the Federal Directorate of Education FDE will resume their classes a few days later, on January 9, 2025, as opposed to the private institutions in Islamabad.
Winter Holidays Extended in AJK
In a contrast to Islamabad, the winter vacation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK has been extended due to the persistent cold wave in the region. The AJK Education Department confirmed that schools—both public and private—will now reopen on February 6, 2025, extending the break beyond the original date of February 2.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adjusts School Reopening Date
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, schools will reopen on January 7, 2025, revising their original reopening date of January 1. This adjustment was made due to ongoing cold weather conditions in the province.
Punjab Schools and Colleges to Reopen Later
In Punjab, both public and private schools will remain closed until January 10, with classes scheduled to start on January 13. However, colleges in Punjab will reopen earlier, on January 6, 2025, after the winter break that started on December 24, 2024.
