PMDC Warns Students Against Illegal Medical and Dental Admissions
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC has released an important advisory to inform students and parents about deceptive admission offers circulating across various platforms. The council has cautioned the public against advertisements that falsely promise admission to medical and dental colleges without fulfilling the required eligibility criteria. Council Clarifies MDCAT Requirement and Advises Applicants to Follow Official Channels
According to the PMDC, there has been a noticeable rise in misleading advertisements appearing in newspapers and on social media. These ads are mainly aimed at students who did not pass the Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT, giving them false hope of securing admission through unofficial routes.
The council clearly stated that candidates who fail to qualify MDCAT are not eligible for enrollment in any medical or dental institution within Pakistan. Even if such students manage to obtain admission through unauthorized means, they will not be registered with the PMDC, which is mandatory to practice in the country.
PMDC also highlighted that studying medicine or dentistry abroad does not automatically ensure registration in Pakistan. Graduates from foreign institutions must meet all regulatory requirements set by the council, including passing MDCAT, before they can be registered and allowed to practice locally.
To avoid falling victim to fraud, the council strongly advised students and parents to depend only on official notifications. Applicants should verify all admission-related details through the websites of provincial admitting universities and authorized regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and compliance with established rules.
