The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has finalized its nationwide entry data, revealing a historic shift in local academic demand. According to official regulatory figures, a staggering 743 seats remained vacant in medical and dental colleges across Pakistan during the 2025–2026 academic session. This unprecedented gap in enrollment persists despite the regulatory body enforcing an extraordinary 45-day national admission extension and drastically lowering the minimum eligibility criteria for the PMDC MDCAT entry exam 2026 cycle to prevent empty classrooms.

This systemic shortage marks an alarming structural turning point for healthcare education in Pakistan. Traditionally, securing a seat at a provincial medical academy was considered the absolute peak of student academic achievement.
