PMDC MDCAT 2025 to Be Held on Provincial Domicile Basis
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC has declared that the upcoming MDCAT 2025 for admission into medical and dental colleges will be conducted strictly according to candidates’ domicile provinces. Students must sit for the exam in the province mentioned on their domicile and will not be allowed to appear elsewhere. To ensure smooth implementation, universities across the four provinces and Islamabad have been selected as official test centers. These include IBA Sukkur, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta, and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University SZABMU, Islamabad. A dedicated center in Islamabad will facilitate applicants from Sindh and Balochistan, while candidates from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will take the exam at their respective provincial universities. SZABMU will also accommodate students from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other provinces, though admissions will follow provincial quotas.
PMDC has emphasized that a valid domicile certificate is mandatory for securing admission to medical and dental institutions. Separate seats have also been reserved for students belonging to Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In addition, the Council has revised the MDCAT schedule due to widespread flooding. Originally planned for October 5, 2025, the exam will now take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, as directed by Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal.
