PHEC Announces International Research Support Fellowship 2023

In an exciting announcement, the Punjab Higher Education Commission PHEC has introduced the International Research Support Fellowship IRSF program. This fellowship is specifically designed for students currently enrolled in Ph.D. programs at provincially chartered universities and institutes in Punjab. The selected students will have the opportunity to conduct research at QS top 200 universities worldwide. The International Research Support Fellowship is a six-month program aimed at providing aspiring scholars with firsthand research experience in their respective fields. The PHEC aims to enhance the quality of research conducted by local students by enabling them to engage with international experts in their areas of study. To apply for the fellowship, interested candidates must ensure that their applications, completed in all aspects, reach the Punjab Higher Education Commission in Lahore no later than August 3, 2023, at 5:00 PM. Applications submitted in person will not be accepted, and only those sent via registered post will be considered.

Provisions of the PHEC International Research Support Fund Grant

Under this program, the PHEC will provide funding to cover the following expenses:

• Travel: The maximum amount allocated for a return air ticket is Rs. 300,000/-

• Living Allowance: Living allowances for different countries will be provided as per the prescribed limits.

• Bench Fee: The PHEC will cover bench fees up to a maximum of Rs. 500,000/-

Eligibility Criteria for the PHEC International Research Support Fund

To be eligible for this prestigious fellowship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Punjab Domicile

• Age Limit: Maximum 45 years

• Enrolled in a Ph.D. program at any public or private sector university in Punjab, with completed coursework

• Ph.D. students can apply after 1.5 years of enrollment and up to a maximum of 3.5 years in the program

• Successfully passed the comprehensive examination as per university norms

• Ph.D. synopsis or research proposal approved by the Board of Advanced Studies and Research BASR or an equivalent statutory body of the university

• Possess a valid acceptance letter from a foreign university or supervisor among the QS top 200 rankings General

Application Process for the International Research Support Fellowship

Interested candidates are required to apply online through the PHEC website. Additionally, a printed copy of the application, completed in all respects, must be sent via registered post to the designated address before August 3, 2023, at 5:00 PM. Hand-delivered applications will not be accepted.
