PBTE Policy Update SSC Arts Admissions to DAE Programs
The Punjab Board of Technical Education PBTE has issued a critical directive regarding the admission of candidates holding an SSC Arts Group certificate into PBTE DAE diploma course 2026. While the Governing Body has considered the eligibility of these candidates in principle, following a resolution by the Inter Board Coordination Commission IBCC, the formal admission protocols remain under active development.
Status of DAE Admissions Criteria
At present, the PBTE DAE course admission criteria and detailed modalities for incorporating SSC Arts Group students into technical streams are being finalized in close consultation with TEVTA. Because these framework details have not yet been officially issued, the board has placed a temporary moratorium on these specific admissions.
Directive for Public and Private Technical Institutes
All public and private sector technical institutions affiliated with the PBTE are hereby strictly directed to refrain from enrolling any SSC Arts Group candidates into DAE programs at this time. This admission suspension will remain in effect until the board officially releases the approved guidelines and formalized procedures. Principals of all affiliated institutes must ensure full compliance with this directive to avoid administrative discrepancies. Further updates regarding the eligibility of technical education candidates will be communicated by the PBTE as soon as the final modalities are confirmed.
