Pak Bans O-Level Cambridge Sociology Books having LGBTQ Content
Federal Ministry of Education put ban on various Cambridge textbooks and these books have the LGBTQ content and they created misrepresentation of the map of Pakistan. Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority banned the printing, publishing and distribution and teaching of the sociology and the History and Culture of Pakistan in the education institutes, which are located in Islamabad. The candidates can get the detailed information that Pak Bans O-Level Cambridge Sociology Books having LGBTQ Content. The private schools and colleges have been instructed to send the implementation report by 10 May.
The sociology books by Jonathan Blundell of Cambridge University Press and ‘The History and Culture of Pakistan’ by Nigel Kelly of Peck Publishing Limited and Danish Publishing private limited, which are banned, and these books were taught in the O-Level class.
Federal Secretary of Education and Vocational Training stated that Curriculum Wing did not issue the No Objection Certificates for these textbooks. The content of these books have been added with material against the socio-cultural values of Pakistan. PEIRA will prohibit the printing, publishing, distribution and teaching of these books and legal action will be sought against the violators under the provision of section 4 of PEIRA Act. The management of the educational institutes must ensure that these books will not be provided in their institutes.
Sociology book has the content of same-sex marriage, which is against the social and cultural values of Pakistan and the second book shows the false political history of Pakistan and it is added with misprinted map of Pakistan. The notification of PEIRA has been provided to the principals and chief executive officers of the private educational institutes located in federal capital.
