Over 43,000 Textbooks Stolen From Govt School in Punjab
Taunsa Punjab, More than 43,000 government-issued textbooks have mysteriously disappeared from a school storage facility. The theft, which took place at Boys High School’s warehouse, has led to a formal police investigation, with a case registered at Tounsa City Police Station.
Authorities have accused the Assistant Education Officer of playing a role in the disappearance of precisely 43,665 textbooks, which were meant for free distribution among students in government schools. Law enforcement has also named seven other suspects, including security guards and warehouse staff, who are now under investigation.
With these books scheduled for allocation later this month, the theft has raised serious concerns about the availability of educational resources for students in the region. The police are actively pursuing leads to recover the missing textbooks and ensure the responsible individuals are brought to justice.
