Non Biology Students Now Eligible for Science Group
Inter Board Coordination Commission IBCC has introduced a new policy allowing students with foreign qualifications, who studied additional mathematics instead of biology along with other required science subjects, to be granted Science Group equivalence at the Secondary School Certificate SSC level. The students can get the latest updates of IBCC Grants Science Group Status to Students Without Biology.
Policy Revision Expands Access to Science and Engineering Fields
Previously, the Scheme of Studies placed such students in the Arts Group, limiting their eligibility for intermediate-level science and engineering courses. IBCC Executive Director, Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, explained that this change was made in the best interest of students, as excluding them from the Science Group solely due to the absence of biology created an unnecessary hurdle for those pursuing pre-engineering paths. He noted that even students with exceptional results, scoring above 90 percent, were previously denied entry into the Science Group under the old rules.
Under the updated policy, students who chose mathematics in place of biology at the SSC stage will now qualify to apply for engineering and other science-related programs in their first year of intermediate studies.
