New Requirements Announced for Private School Registration
The Lahore Education Authority has introduced new, more rigorous guidelines for the registration of private schools, aiming to enhance the quality of infrastructure and hygiene within educational institutions. These changes are part of a broader initiative to ensure safer and healthier learning environments for students across the city. The students can get fresh updates of Stricter Registration Rules Announced for Private Schools in Lahore.
Mandatory Certifications for Building Safety and Hygiene
During a recent meeting led by CEO Education Lahore, Nazir Hussain Chheena, it was declared that private schools applying for registration must now submit an up-to-date building fitness certificate and a hygienic environment certificate. Outdated certifications will no longer be accepted, marking a significant shift in the registration criteria.
Educational Leaders Express Concerns Over Transport Requirements
The session was attended by several notable figures from the private education sector, including Qazi Naeem Anjum of Qazi School and Waqf Awan Taleem, along with representatives from prominent schools such as Beaconhouse, The City School, KIPS, and others. Concerns were voiced, particularly about the proposed requirement for neighborhood schools to operate school buses, which some argue is financially unfeasible.
Mandatory School Buses and New Legislative Compliance
In response to these concerns, CEO Nazir Chheena reaffirmed that having operational school transport will be a compulsory condition for new registrations. He also stressed the need for all institutions to adhere to the newly implemented Free and Compulsory Education Act 2024, reinforcing the governments commitment to accessible education for every child.
Renewal and Verification Process for School Licensing
The education department is currently focused on renewing licenses for existing schools, while the process for granting new licenses will be more rigorous. This includes thorough document verification and on-site inspections, aiming to ensure that only compliant institutions receive operational approval.
