M.Phil Programs Admissions 2025 open in GCU

Government College University Lahore GCU, a premier public-sector institution with over 160 years of academic excellence, invites applications for the GCU Graduate Assessment Test GCU-GAT/I for admission to MS and MPhil programs for the Fall 2025 intake.

The GCU-GAT/I is a mandatory requirement for applying to postgraduate programs at GCU Lahore. This assessment evaluates applicants’ analytical, quantitative, and subject-specific competencies and ensures a fair and merit-based admissions process.

Important Dates

Application Opens: 12th May 2025

Deadline to Apply: 23rd May 2025

Test Dates: 31st May & 1st June 2025

Result Announcement: 10th June 2025

How to Register for GCU-GAT/I

Generate the challan form after filling out the online registration.

Deposit Processing Fee of PKR 1,500/- at any UBL branch across Pakistan via printed challan form.

Note: Payments via UBL mobile app or Omni are not accepted.

Do NOT send hard copies of the application or challan to the University.

Submit a separate GAT form and fee for each subject you are applying to.

Roll Number Slips and Seating Plans will be uploaded to the GCU Portal and official website before the test.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for MS/MPhil admissions at GCU Lahore:

Must have 16 years of education in a relevant field:

MA / MSc / BA Hons / BSc Hons or an equivalent degree from an HEC-recognized institution.

Minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 semester system or 50% marks annual system.

Students awaiting final results of BS Semester VIII 2025 may apply provisionally. Final results must be declared before the commencement of classes.

Minimum 50% score in GCU-GAT/I is required for eligibility in the admission process.

Note for MPhil Freshwater Biology, Fisheries & Aquaculture Applicants:

Applicants must hold a BSc Hons or BS degree in:

Zoology

Freshwater Biology

Fisheries and Aquaculture

Applied Fisheries

from an HEC-recognized institution with at least 2.50 CGPA or 50% marks.

GCU-GAT/I Test Format

Analytical Reasoning 10

Subject-Based 60 105 Minutes

Total 100 180 Minutes

The GCU-GAT/I 2025 is only valid for admissions in Fall 2025.

It is also mandatory for applicants applying under the disability quota.
