Ministry Starts No Child Left Behind Campaign in ICT
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has officially kicked off a landmark household survey in Islamabad. The "No Child Left Behind" campaign aims to identify every out-of-school child OOSC in the federal capital to ensure universal access to education.
A uni on Council-Wise Strategy
To ensure no one is missed, the ministry is employing a "carpet coverage" model. This systematic approach involves surveying every uni on Council in Islamabad. By mapping out the exact locations and numbers of children currently outside the school system, the government plans to provide:
- Enrollment in formal government schools.
- Access to non-formal education centers for non-traditional learners.
- Targeted interventions based on real-time household data.
Education as a Constitutional Right
During the launch ceremony at IMCB Jaba Tali, Education Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized that education is a fundamental right. To encourage new students, the ministry distributed schoolbags to children joining non-formal education centers. Supported by international partners like JICA, this initiative marks a major step toward ending educational disparities in the capital.
