MDCAT 2026 Scheduled for August 16 Across Pakistan

The Senate Standing Committee on Health has finalized Sunday, August 16, 2026, as the official date for the MDCAT 2026 Exams, providing clarity to thousands of students preparing for admission into medical and dental colleges nationwide. Although the formal notification from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC is still awaited, officials have confirmed that the test is expected to take place on the announced date. PMDC Introduces New Verification Rules and Confirms Key Details for Medical Entry Test

Authorities stated that the schedule was carefully planned after reviewing the national academic calendar to ensure students receive adequate preparation time after completing their board Exams. Educational boards across Pakistan, along with Cambridge International and Azad Kashmir Exams, are expected to conclude by July 20, 2026, giving candidates nearly a month for revision before the entrance test.

Officials explained that the mid-August schedule was selected to avoid clashes with other Exams and reduce academic pressure on students. According to committee representatives, the timing is intended to provide students with a balanced period for rest, revision, and mental preparation before appearing in one of the country’s most competitive Exams.

The PMDC has also introduced major administrative changes for the upcoming MDCAT cycle. Candidates below the age of 18 will now be required to possess a valid Juvenile Registration Card JRC issued by National Database and Registration Authority instead of the traditional B-Form. Officials advised parents and students to complete the document process early to avoid registration difficulties later.

Another significant change is the introduction of mandatory biometric verification at all MDCAT Exams centers. Students’ fingerprints will be verified through NADRA’s digital database before entry into the Exams halls in an effort to prevent impersonation and strengthen transparency in the admission process.

Reports suggest that MDCAT registrations are likely to begin during the first week of June 2026 and may continue until the third week of July. The expected registration fee is estimated between PKR 3,000 and PKR 5,000, although final confirmation from PMDC is still pending.

Regarding the Exams pattern, the MDCAT syllabus will largely remain unchanged. The paper will continue to include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning, consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 150 minutes. Students have been encouraged to focus on conceptual understanding and begin structured preparation well before the registration process starts.

Officials further advised candidates to keep their identification documents updated, ensure biometric records are clear in NADRA’s database, and regularly check the official PMDC portal for registration schedules, fee details, and Exams center announcements. The authorities also warned students against relying on unofficial social media information and fake updates regarding the medical entrance Exams.
