LHC Mandates Weekly Closure of Educational Institutions Until January End

In a significant ruling, the Lahore High Court LHC has decided to implement a weekly holiday for all educational institutions every Saturday until the conclusion of January 2024. This decision emerged during the hearing of a case addressing the alarming levels of smog, particularly in Lahore and its surrounding areas. Previously, the provincial government had mandated the wearing of face masks for a week in selected districts of the province, effective from November 20 until November 26, as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19.
