In Lahore, hundreds of matric students were denied entry to the mathematics exam on Monday after reaching their examination centers late. The test was held under the supervision of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore. Rain-Delayed Candidates Denied Entry as BISE Lahore Enforces Strict Timing Policy
One student reported that the gates of the Lawrence Road examination center were closed promptly at 9 a.m., the scheduled start time of the paper.
Parents of several students said their children were delayed due to heavy rainfall that started overnight and continued into the morning, causing severe traffic disruptions throughout the city. They appealed to the Lahore Board to allow a brief grace period for students in such exceptional weather conditions.
Parents also voiced concern that missing the exam could cost these students an entire academic year.
However, officials from BISE Lahore clarified that the reporting time for all annual examinations is fixed at 8 a.m., and no candidate is permitted to enter the hall after 9 a.m. under any circumstances.
