Lahore Tightens School Security by Banning Vendors Near Campuses
The District Education Authority DEA Lahore has announced strict new security arrangements for schools, including a complete prohibition on street vendors setting up stalls near school boundary walls. According to an official notification, heads of both public and private schools have been instructed to make sure that no carts selling fruit, vegetables, or any other goods operate close to school buildings or along their boundary walls. The directive is applicable to all educational institutions across Lahore.
School administrations have been directed to immediately notify the relevant authorities if any vendor is spotted near school premises. If the vendor is not removed, zonal heads are required to report the issue to the assistant commissioner of the respective tehsil.
The DEA further stated that during inspections, if any cart is found stationed outside a school or attached to its boundary wall, the school head will be held directly responsible. Failure to comply with the instructions will result in disciplinary action against the concerned head.
Officials explained that the measure has been introduced to strengthen the safety and security of students.
