School Education Department in Lahore has introduced an innovative WhatsApp learning initiative to elevate educational standards in government schools. Partnering with UNICEF, this program will initially be rolled out in 10 schools across Lahore. Training for Enhanced Communication

The initiative includes a comprehensive 4-week training session for 10 parents and 5 teachers from each participating school. This training aims to foster improved communication and collaboration between teachers and parents, ultimately enhancing the quality of education in public schools. Schools have been asked to submit lists of interested teachers and parents for the program.


Reorganization and Improvement of Schools

This initiative comes on the heels of a public schools reorganization program approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, which emphasizes the rehabilitation and enhancement of government schools across the province. The Chief Minister has set an ambitious goal of constructing and rehabilitating 1,000 school grounds within six months and has initiated weekly and monthly competitions to create a more engaging and competitive educational environment.


Comprehensive School Mapping

Chief Minister Nawaz has also called for a thorough mapping of schools to assess their facilities and needs throughout Punjab. This mapping will guide future improvements and investments in the education sector, ensuring targeted and effective enhancements.


Job Security and Environmental Responsibility

The reorganization program also plans to regularize 14,000 Assistant Education Officers AEOs and Secondary School Educators SSEs in Punjab, providing greater job security and stability for these educators. Additionally, the Green School Programme aims to instill environmental responsibility in students by requiring each student to plant at least one sapling, with digital tracking to ensure accountability and monitor growth.
