Lahore Board Launches Digital E-Sheet System for Matric Exams
Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore has completed arrangements to implement an electronic answer sheet E-Sheet system for Class 9 and 10 annual exams. Initially, the new method will be applied to Computer Science papers as part of efforts to modernize the assessment process. Under this digital system, students’ answer scripts will be scanned and uploaded to an online platform. Examiners will then evaluate the papers remotely using electronic marking tools. This approach is expected to speed up the checking process and enhance fairness and transparency in exams.
Separate Examiner Assigned for Each Question
Sources indicate that instead of assigning a full paper to a single examiner, each question will be marked by a different examiner. For instance, if a paper includes five questions, five separate examiners will assess one question each. Authorities believe that this strategy will help minimize human error and prevent favoritism or biased marking.
Guidelines for Organized Answer Writing
To ensure accurate scanning and efficient digital evaluation, students will be required to clearly write their responses under the specified question numbers on the E-Sheet. Proper organization of answers will be essential for smooth processing in the online system.
Greater Transparency and Secure Digital Records
According to the board secretary, the introduction of the E-Sheet system is aimed at improving the overall standard of marking and ensuring transparent results. Since all evaluated scripts will be stored digitally, the system will also strengthen record-keeping and likely reduce the number of complaints regarding rechecking and result discrepancies.
