Lahore Board Introduces Biometric System to Eliminate Exam Identity Fraud
Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore has launched a biometric attendance system to tackle impersonation and identity-related fraud during examinations. This innovative step aims to enhance transparency and credibility in the exam process. The system was initially tested during the Matric Second Annual Examinations at the Lawrence Road Examination Centre, where over 200 students were successfully verified through biometric scanning. After the successful pilot, the board has decided to extend this technology to the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations, where more than 35,000 candidates will have their attendance verified biometrically.
New Biometric Attendance Initiative Ensures Transparency in Examination Process
The Lahore Board has issued a strict warning that any candidate attempting to impersonate another student or appear under a false identity will face a permanent ban from all future exams and legal action.
In previous years, the education boards have struggled with cases of cheating, impersonation, and fake identities, which have raised concerns about the integrity of the examination system. Officials now believe that the introduction of biometric verification will effectively eliminate such malpractices and help restore public confidence in the fairness of the exam process.
