KU Students Guide to Pakistan Day 2026 Holiday Schedule
The University of Karachi UoK has officially announced a public holiday on Monday, March 23, 2026, in observance of Pakistan Day. According to a formal notification issued by the Registrar’s office, the university will suspend all academic and administrative activities for the day. This decision follows the provincial government’s directive to celebrate the national occasion with full fervor.

The notification, signed by Registrar Prof. Dr. Imran Ahmad Siddiqui, cites the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and refers to the earlier directive issued by the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department of the Government of Sindh.
The closure applies to:
- All teaching departments and faculties.
- Administrative offices and secretariats.
- Research institutes and affiliated centers.
Significance of Pakistan Day
Pakistan Day is a landmark event in the country’s history, marking the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940. This year, the holiday falls on a Monday, creating an extended weekend for many. Students are advised that no classes or examinations will take place on March 23. Regular university operations are expected to resume on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
