KU Holiday Notice Ashura Observance 2026
The University of Karachi has officially announced that the campus will remain closed on the 25th and 26th of June, 2026, corresponding to Thursday and Friday. This public holiday is observed in accordance with the directive issued by the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department, Government of Sindh. The closure is designated to honor the solemn occasion of Ashura, marking the 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 A.H..
Administrative Approval and Compliance
This official university notification, which adheres to the institutional principle of ‘Say No to Corruption,’ has been issued with the formal approval of the Vice-Chancellor. All faculty, administrative staff, and students are advised to take note of these academic calendar adjustments and plan their schedules accordingly.
