KP Worker Welfare Fund 2023-24 Scholarship Opportunity

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Worker Welfare Board/Fund has introduced scholarships aimed at supporting the education of children belonging to industrial and mine workers who are pursuing studies in colleges, universities, and institutions during the academic year 2023-24. Students from various educational institutions are classified into three distinct categories for eligibility. Application Deadlines for Different Categories:

• For Inter/DAE students: The application deadline is set as October 31, 2023.

• For undergraduate degree students: Applications are accepted until December 31, 2023.

• For MBBS, Engineering, and postgraduate students: The final application deadline is March 31, 2024.

Comprehensive Scholarship Coverage:

Selected students will be entitled to comprehensive financial coverage, which includes:

• Admission fees

• Tuition fees

• Transport charges

• Hostel fees

• Library fees

• Computer fees

• Exam fees

• Additionally, students will receive a monthly stipend to aid their academic journey.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the scholarship, workers must meet the following criteria:

• Fulfill the worker definition outlined in the Industrial Relation Act IRA 2012

• Have a minimum service period of 3 years

• Be registered with EOBI or ESSI

• Employees of the Worker Welfare Board and Fund, along with their children, are eligible too.

Scholarship Categories:

The scholarship categories are defined as follows:

Category 1:

Students enrolled in institutions under the administration of the Worker Welfare Board/Fund. If seats are unavailable, admission in Public Schools or Cadet Colleges under Provincial or Federal Government is acceptable. Priority is given to students in Worker Welfare Boards higher secondary schools. They will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 3500/-. Application deadline: October 31, 2023.

Category 2:

Students pursuing graduation degrees or equivalent from HEC recognized Government or Private Universities, or those enrolled in Affiliated Government Colleges. A monthly stipend of PKR 4500/- is granted.

Category 3:

Students pursuing Engineering, Medical, or Postgraduate degrees from recognized Government or Private institutions. They will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 5500/-.

Necessary Documentation:

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

• Admission offer letter from a recognized institution HEC/PMDC/PEC/HERA

• Scholarship form endorsed by factory Management or CBA

• Attested copies of CNIC/Form-B/Birth Certificate

• Attested copy of Workers CNIC

• Attestable EOBI/ESSI Worker Card

• Copy of EOBI/ESSI worker card

• Copies of DMC/Marks sheets/Result cards from previous exams

• Original Service Certificate from the respective factory

• Original Payslip from the respective factory

• Copy of 2% payment certificate as per relevant registration act/industrial and Mines act

• Copies of fee payment receipts from the respective university

• Documented evidence of institutions registration/recognition
