KP Government Introduces Free Education for Bright Students

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa KP government has announced a groundbreaking initiative to provide free, high-caliber education to exceptionally gifted students enrolled in government schools from 7th to 12th grade. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, this initiative aims to offer talented students access to prestigious educational institutions within the province. The students will get the latest updates of KP Government Introduces Educational and Infrastructure Initiatives.

To further enhance educational opportunities, the cabinet approved plans to double both the monthly scholarship amount and the number of deserving beneficiaries in the scheme from the upcoming academic year. Additionally, the cabinet underscored the importance of ensuring equal access to education by addressing issues such as the availability of textbooks and related facilities. A study was commissioned to compare the quality and cost of textbooks published by both the government and private sectors, with the approval of utilizing old textbooks to cater to the needs of the provinces populace.

Infrastructure Development

In a bid to bolster energy production and sustainable development, the KP cabinet greenlit several significant projects. Approval was granted for the rehabilitation and restoration of the 17-megawatt Ranolia Hyower Project in Lower Kohistan, previously endorsed by the Provincial Development Working Party PDWP for Rs8.1 billion. Financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank was secured for this project, which is expected to contribute substantially to the provinces annual income.

Furthermore, the cabinet sanctioned the acquisition of land for the 88MW Gabral Kalam Hyower project in District Swat, funded by the World Bank. Once operational, this project is anticipated to generate significant revenue for the province. The cabinet also approved additional compensation for land and property for the implementation of the 300MW Balakot Hyower project on Kunhar River Manshera.

Modernization Initiatives

In a move towards modernization, the cabinet decided to transition from manual registration books to automated motor vehicle registration smart cards. The Excise and Taxation Department had previously collaborated with the National Security Printing Company NSPC of the federal government for the provision of registration certificates and smart cards. This transition aims to streamline the registration process and provide more efficient services to the public.

Infrastructure and Administrative Decisions

The cabinet endorsed the allocation of funds from the defunct FATA Development Authority for accelerated implementation programs in the merged districts. Additionally, land acquisition for the construction of the Judicial Complex at Panah Kotm Upper Dir was approved. Moreover, the enactment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Registration of Godown Rules 2022 was endorsed to regulate and register warehouses, ensuring a comprehensive system for the stable supply and availability of goods.
