Karachi Inter Board annual exams begin today

Board of Intermediate Education Karachi BIEK has officially started the annual intermediate examinations, with more than 126,500 students participating in both the morning and evening sessions. Examination materials are being dispatched from the board’s central office to designated centers, ensuring timely delivery of all essential items. The students can get the latest updates of Karachi Board Begins Intermediate Examinations Across the City.

Exam Schedule and Participation

The morning shift, running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, includes exams for Pre-Medical Science and other academic streams. Today, 11th-grade students are sitting for their Mathematics paper, scheduled for three hours. Over 92,000 candidates are attending the morning shift, while the evening shift, which runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and includes General Science papers, is expected to see participation from more than 34,500 students.

Examination Centers and Security Measures

A total of 182 centers have been set up for the exams—122 for the morning and 60 for the evening shifts. Among these, 36 centers have been classified as highly sensitive. Board Chairman Ghulam Hussain Sohoo confirmed that all arrangements for transparent and fair exams have been finalized. Enhanced security has been requested at the sensitive centers, and monitoring cells are in place to prevent malpractice and address emergencies.

Coordination with Law Enforcement and Services

To ensure a peaceful environment, the karachi inter board has reached out to various authorities including the Inspector General of Sindh Police, the Commissioner of Karachi, DIG Traffic, and K-Electric. Complaint cells with board representatives have also been established in district deputy commissioner offices. Considering the ongoing heatwave, a request has been submitted for Rescue 1122 assistance. Section 144 is being enforced around examination centers, prohibiting unauthorized individuals and closing nearby photocopy shops.

Vigilance and Result Timeline

Strict protocols have been implemented for paper distribution. Each question paper is coded according to its center for traceability in case of leaks. Mobile phones and electronic devices are banned and will be confiscated if found. To further deter cheating, 16 super vigilance teams have been deployed. The examinations are set to conclude by Thursday, May 29, and the results will be declared within two months of their completion.
