Karachi Board Chief Resigns Following Probe into Exam Irregularities

Inquiry Report Triggers Resignation and Possible Legal Action
According to reports, the inquiry committee recommended strict action against Soho, including suspension and the initiation of criminal proceedings through the anti-corruption department. Faced with these recommendations, he chose to step down from his position.
Sources indicate that one of the key concerns highlighted in the report was that a suspension could jeopardize his future within the FBISE Federal Board, his parent department. To avoid this outcome and maintain the possibility of continuing his service there, Soho opted to resign.
The resignation has been forwarded to the secretary of the Sindh Boards Department and will move through the relevant minister before reaching the final authority. The ultimate decision rests with the Chief Minister, who will determine whether to accept the resignation or pursue further disciplinary action.
The investigative committee was established on the directives of Ismail Rahoo and has formally submitted its findings to the office overseeing boards and universities. The case now awaits a final verdict from the provincial leadership.
