Japan Announces Language Test Dates for Pakistani Workers
The Japanese government has announced an important update for Pakistanis aspiring to work in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker SSW program — applicants must now pass a basic Japanese language test to qualify. As part of growing cooperation between Pakistan and Japan, the Japan Foundation has introduced the Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese JFT-Basic in Pakistan. This test evaluates candidates’ essential communication skills in Japanese, ensuring they can adapt to Japan’s work environment.
JFT-Basic Exam in Islamabad Becomes Mandatory Step for Japan Work Visa Applicants
According to officials, the test will take place at the Skans School of Accountancy, F-8 Markaz, Islamabad, on October 4, October 11, November 1, and November 8, 2025. Only 500 candidates will be accommodated per session. Passing the test is a mandatory requirement for individuals applying for Japan’s SSW visa, which permits foreign nationals to live and work in Japan.
Experts have welcomed this initiative, calling it a promising opportunity for Pakistani youth to gain employment in Japan. They believe this step will not only help young professionals build successful careers abroad but also strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and Japan.
