Islamabad Schools and Colleges Announce Winter Vacation 2025-26
Islamabad’s federal schools and colleges, under the Federal Directorate of Education FDE, have announced their winter holiday schedule. All institutions, including Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges in both urban and rural areas, will remain closed from 26 December 2025 to 3 January 2026. Resumption of Academic Activities
Regular classes will resume on Monday, 5 January 2026. Additionally, the FDE has directed that Saturday, 10 January 2026, will be a working day for all teaching, administrative, and non-teaching staff to complete priority tasks assigned by the Directorate.
Official Communication
The winter holiday schedule for islamabad has been formally communicated to all school heads via Area Education Officers and issued with the approval of the Director General, FDE.
Winter Schedules Across Pakistan
Other provinces have also finalized their winter vacation timetables in response to the cold wave. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, schools in summer zones will observe a break from 1 to 15 January, while winter zone institutions will remain closed from 22 December 2025 to 28 February 2026.
In Sindh, public and private schools and colleges will shut from 22 to 31 December 2025, with classes resuming on 1 January 2026, and supplementary board exams continuing as scheduled.
The Punjab government has also declared winter holidays for all schools from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, with academic activities resuming on 10 January 2026.
