Islamabad Mandates Registration for All Private Schools 2026
Authorities in Islamabad have announced stricter measures to regulate private schools that are operating without proper registration in the federal capital. The students can check the latest information of Islamabad Cracks Down on Unregistered Private Schools.
Officials have stated that all unregistered private schools must complete their registration process within the next two months. In addition, the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority PEIRA has introduced a one-time amnesty for schools that are late in renewing their registration, allowing them to pay renewal fees by April 30 without penalty.
This decision emerged from a high-level meeting chaired by PEIRA Chairman Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, which focused on issues related to unregistered schools and institutions awaiting registration renewal. The meeting also reviewed the collection and analysis of student enrollment data from private schools throughout Islamabad.
According to officials, the main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the data collection system and ensure that student enrollment records maintained by private schools are accurate and verified.
Dr. Mallah highlighted the critical role of reliable and verified data, stating that it promotes transparency, facilitates informed policy decisions, and supports effective regulation of the private education sector.
During discussions, representatives of private schools requested a one-time waiver of fines imposed for late registration renewals. They also asked for an additional two-month extension to submit applications for new registrations or renewals.
