Imperial College London Denies Plans to Establish Campus in Lahore
Imperial College London has officially denied recent reports suggesting it intends to open a campus at Nawaz Sharif IT City in Lahore, Pakistan. The students can get fresh updates of Imperial College London Denies Plans to Establish Campus in Lahore.
In an official statement, the university clarified, “Reports that Imperial College London plans to open a campus overseas are incorrect.” It further confirmed that the institution has no plans to establish campuses outside the United Kingdom, and that all its campuses remain UK-based.
University Refutes Punjab Government’s Claim About Opening at Nawaz Sharif IT City
The clarification came after various media outlets and social media platforms reported that Imperial College London was planning to set up a branch in Lahore. These claims gained traction following a Facebook post by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in which she mentioned that the foundation stone for the Imperial College campus would be laid in November, alongside projects for a modern hospital and an IT Tower, which is reportedly 78 percent complete.
Imperial College London, however, labeled these reports as inaccurate and advised the public to rely on information available on its International Relations Office webpages for verified details about the university’s global partnerships and initiatives.
With this statement, the university has put an end to speculation regarding its expansion to Pakistan, reaffirming that Imperial’s teaching and research activities remain exclusively within the United Kingdom.
