How Sindh New Digital System Ends Ghost Teacher Era
The Sindh government has officially announced a transformative digital shift in the provinces education department. Under the leadership of Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the traditional manual attendance registers are being replaced by a high-tech mobile application known as FRAMES. This move aims to modernize the Sindh Education sector and ensure absolute transparency in staff presence.
The FRAMES system integrates two core technologies to combat absenteeism: Facial Recognition and Geo-fencing. Unlike previous biometric systems that required physical hardware, this mobile-based solution allows teachers and non-teaching staff to mark their attendance using their own smartphones. However, the app will only function if the employee is physically located within the schools mapped boundaries, thanks to precise Geo-fencing technology.
Key Features of the Sindh Digital Attendance Overhaul:
- Mandatory Verification: All staff must undergo a one-time biometric and facial data linkage to their school profile.
- Ghost Employee Prevention: By requiring physical presence and live facial scans, the system effectively eliminates "proxy" attendance.
- Real-time Monitoring: A centralized Provincial Dashboard provides authorities with live data across all districts.
- Improved Standards: The initiative is designed to restore administrative discipline and boost Teaching Standards across the province.
Minister Sardar Ali Shah confirmed that the database has already linked teachers biometric data to specific school profiles. The official rollout is scheduled to take place immediately following the Eid Holidays. This digital reform is expected to save millions in the provincial budget by identifying non-active employees while rewarding punctual educators.
