HED BS (Hons) Degrees Bans in Various Colleges

Higher Education Department of Punjab put ban on about 27 colleges to offer the BS (Hons) degrees to the candidates. The HED has completed the survey of 29 colleges and they found the shortcomings in the educational standard of Pakistan and the decision was made over the malpractices and these colleges also have no infrastructure for such courses. The inspection team is added with Directorate of Colleges inspected some private colleges that offered BS (Hons) degree courses and they found that there are only two colleges, which fulfilled the requirements for this degree course according to higher education standards. The Directorate of Public Instruction is the final authority in order to approve the provision of BS (Hons) degrees and the team carried out the inspection off 29 colleges, in which two colleges came up to required standard and they were allowed to carry on their BS (Hons) degree courses while remaining 27 colleges were stopped to offer BS (Hons) degree because of various shortcoming in these colleges as they removed underlying curriculum and devise the concrete plan in order to settle the infrastructure needs, which were found missing. The inspection team commended private colleges, which are eligible for BS Honors degree by meeting the standards as per DPI criteria.
