HEC Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunity GB Students

Higher Education Commission HEC has introduced undergraduate scholarships for students from Gilgit Baltistan who aspire to pursue their higher education in esteemed Pakistani universities and institutions. This initiative is open to those interested in undertaking four to five-year BS programs at HEC-recognized public sector universities and degree awarding institutions. The scholarships are available for the academic year 2022-23, covering a wide range of study disciplines under the project named "Batch-lI Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Gilgit-Baltistan Students in Leading Pakistani Universities/Institutions." Application Procedure and Deadline

To apply for the scholarship, candidates should submit their applications by the latest deadline of October 24, 2022. Scope of HEC GB Scholarship

The scholarship encompasses the following benefits:

• Coverage of tuition fee, hostel expenses, and other charges, up to a maximum of Rs. 240,000 per annum.

• A monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000.

• An annual allowance of Rs. 30,000 for books and travel expenses.

Eligibility Criteria for HEC Undergraduate Scholarship

To be eligible for the HEC Undergraduate Scholarship for Gilgit Baltistan Students, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

• Hold a domicile or local certificate from Gilgit-Baltistan.

• Have successfully completed their Secondary School Certificate SSC and/or Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC or equivalent. Priority will be given to those who have completed these qualifications in Gilgit-Baltistan.

• Not be currently benefiting from any other scholarship.

• Have the freedom to apply to any public sector university or institution within Pakistan. However, any costs exceeding those outlined in PC-1 will be the students responsibility.

• Be within the maximum age limit of 22 years as of the application submission closing date.

• Meet the admission criteria set by both HEC and the chosen university for the BS programs.

Key Points to Note

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the Aptitude Test, which will be administered by the Education Testing Council, HEC, as well as their academic credentials. A minimum score of 50% in the test is required.

• Students who are already enrolled in a BS program at a public sector university or institution up to one academic year/session prior to the advertisement are also eligible to apply.

• The selection of scholarship recipients will be unbiased with respect to gender, caste, race, or religion.

Application Process for HEC Undergraduate Scholarship

Applicants are required to complete their applications online via the link. HEC reserves the right to alter or halt the scholarship process at any point without providing specific reasons. Paper applications will not be considered. As part of the application, candidates must deposit a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- into Account No.17427900133401 at Habib Bank Limited, SRC H-9 Branch, Islamabad. A scanned copy of the bank receipt should be uploaded during the online application.

Applicants are advised to regularly monitor their email and the HEC website for any updates. Its recommended to apply well in advance of the closing date to receive assistance in case of any complications.
