Higher Education Commission Unveils 4500 Scholarships for Afghan Students

In a significant initiative, the Higher Education Commission HEC has launched the third phase of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships Programme for Afghan Nationals. This phase aims to provide 4500 scholarships over a three-year period to Afghan students, enabling them to pursue their education in prestigious Pakistani universities. Minister Madad Ali Sindhi Announces the Programs Expansion

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Mr. Madad Ali Sindhi, made this announcement during the graduation ceremony for 281 Afghan students who successfully completed their studies under Phase-II of the Scholarship Programme. These graduates obtained Bachelors and Masters degrees in diverse fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Management, and Computer Science from 25 universities across Pakistan.

Minister Sindhi emphasized the transformative nature of this opportunity, urging Afghan scholars to embrace a heightened sense of responsibility when they return to Afghanistan. He encouraged them to identify and address the challenges facing their home country by utilizing their intellectual abilities effectively. He also stressed the importance of capacity building for both students and faculty, recognizing the pivotal role played by the HEC in providing educational opportunities for Afghan students through scholarships in Pakistan.
