HEC Raises Degree Attestation Fee Across Pakistan
The Higher Education Commission HEC has revised its degree attestation charges, significantly increasing the HEC Degree Attestation fee as part of its newly upgraded digital attestation framework.
According to the updated notification, the fee for attesting academic documents has been raised from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 3,000 per document. The change applies to degrees, transcripts, provisional certificates, and equivalence-related documents processed through the HEC e-Services portal.
New Fee Structure Introduced Under Updated Online System
Officials say the adjustment is linked with the expansion of the fully online and paperless attestation system, which allows applicants to submit and verify their documents digitally without physically visiting HEC offices. The revised mechanism is designed to streamline processing, improve efficiency, and strengthen verification procedures.
The increase has been implemented alongside broader reforms in the attestation system, including 24/7 online access, digital submission of documents, and automated tracking of applications. However, the fee revision has also drawn public attention due to its sharp rise compared to the previous structure.
