HEC PhD Scholarships via US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor

The Higher Education Commission HEC of Pakistan has officially opened applications for the HEC US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship Program 2027, a flagship initiative aimed at fostering world-class research talent. This prestigious fully funded scholarship provides a transformative pathway for Pakistani and AJK nationals to pursue doctoral studies at top-ranked US universities. By facilitating access to global academic excellence, the program seeks to build a highly skilled cadre of researchers, educators, and policy leaders who will return to Pakistan to drive national development in priority sectors.

 

 

The scholarship is structured into categories based on the global standing of the host institution. Scholars admitted to top 50 QS World Ranked US universities Category I receive comprehensive support, including full tuition coverage, an annual living stipend of USD 19,200, health insurance assistance, and return airfare. For those securing admission in universities ranked between 51 and 100 Category II, the HEC provides annual tuition support up to USD 12,000, alongside the same stipend and insurance benefits. This international doctoral grant ensures that financial constraints do not hinder students from engaging in cutting-edge research in high-impact fields such as engineering, natural sciences, life sciences, and social sciences.

 

 

To be eligible for these HEC international scholarships, applicants must hold at least 16 years of formal education BS, BE, or equivalent and maintain a strong academic record without any third divisions. The age limit is 35 years for general applicants, while regular faculty of public sector universities and researchers of approved R&D organizations may apply up to age 40. A valid GRE General score of at least 300 or an HEC HAT score of 60% is required. Prospective scholars are encouraged to finalize their admission at a qualifying US university before applying through the HEC scholarship portal. With deadlines for Spring/Summer 2027 set for October 30, 2026, and Fall 2027 for March 30, 2027, candidates should begin their application process early to secure their place in this competitive academic fellowship program.
