New Online Verification System Removes Need for Physical Document Submission

HEC Chairman Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar announced that the newly introduced Digital Attestation System DAS will allow applicants to complete the entire attestation procedure online without visiting HEC offices or submitting original academic documents physically.

According to HEC officials, the new platform has been developed with blockchain-based technology to improve the speed, security, and transparency of the verification system. The chairman stated that suggestions presented by the National Assembly’s standing committee were also considered while designing the updated process.

Under the revised system, students can submit applications for degree attestation through HEC’s online e-services portal at any time. Applicants must register an account, enter their educational information, and upload academic credentials for electronic verification.

The uploaded records will first be checked digitally by the relevant universities and then verified by HEC before final approval is granted. To further simplify the process, the commission has integrated online payment facilities through OneLink, enabling students to pay fees electronically instead of visiting banks.

After successful verification, applicants will receive digital e-certificates rather than manually stamped documents. The system will also send regular updates through SMS and email notifications so students can track their application status easily.

Officials believe the new online attestation mechanism will significantly reduce delays, lower costs for applicants, and increase transparency by minimizing human involvement in the verification procedure.
