HEC Incentives for Universities for Faster Online Degree Verification
The Higher Education Commission HEC has rolled out a new incentive plan aimed at encouraging universities to speed up the online verification of academic documents under its digital attestation system.
New Reward System Linked to Speed of Document Checks
Under the newly issued policy, universities will receive financial rewards as HEC Degree attestation fee based on how quickly they complete verification tasks. Institutions that verify documents within 24 hours will be given Rs. 500 per document. Those completing the process within 48 hours will receive Rs. 300 per document, while verifications done within 72 hours or later will earn Rs. 100 per document.
Officials say the initiative is part of HEC’s broader move toward a fully digital, paperless attestation system designed to improve efficiency, transparency, and processing speed. The system allows applicants to submit requests online without visiting HEC offices, while universities handle verification through dedicated digital platforms.
HEC leadership has stated that the goal is to reduce delays in degree attestation, strengthen coordination between institutions, and make the overall verification process faster and more reliable for students across Pakistan.
