HEC Approves Enrollment in Two Degree Programs Across Pakistan
New Dual and Joint Degree Policy Expands Academic Choices for University Students
HEC officials explained that students choosing a dual-degree option will not be limited to a single faculty or field of study, allowing them to combine programs from different academic disciplines. In addition, the commission has also approved joint-degree arrangements through which students can complete portions of their education at different universities.
According to the new framework, universities must sign an MoU approved by the HEC before launching joint-degree programs. The policy also allows collaborations between local and international universities, enabling students to earn joint qualifications through global academic partnerships. The initiative is part of HEC’s broader plan to increase educational flexibility and strengthen the quality of higher education in Pakistan.
