HEC Applications For US-Pak Corridor GRE Training 2026
The Higher Education Commission HEC of Pakistan, in collaboration with Uraan Pakistan, has officially opened applications for specialized GRE General preparatory training under the HEC US–Pakistan Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship Program. This state-backed training program aims to equip outstanding Pakistani and Azad Jammu & Kashmir AJK nationals with the skills required to win doctoral placements at elite American universities.
Eligibility Standards and Application Timeline for Aspiring PhD Scholars
To maintain high academic standards, the HEC has established precise qualification baselines for all prospective trainees:
Academic Prerequisites: Applicants must possess a minimum of 16 years of formal education paired with a consistently strong academic history.
Age Limitations: The program caps eligibility at 35 years for general candidates, while active government employees and public sector university faculty members receive a relaxed ceiling of up to 40 years.
Target Training Locations: Physical preparatory workshops will be systematically conducted across four major regional hubs: Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, and Lahore.
The ultimate goal of this capacity-building initiative is to ease the entry of local researchers into premier global institutions. As a strong financial incentive, HEC-GRE trainees who achieve a cumulative score of 300 or higher on their official evaluation will become eligible for a full ETS test fee refund. Furthermore, achieving this unlocks direct eligibility for fully funded PhD scholarship consideration at top QS-ranked US universities.
