Govt New Criteria for HEC for Improvement of Education Quality
Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives managed the meeting with the higher officials of Higher Education Commission in Islamabad to discuss the performance audit framework and pending HEC initiatives. During the meeting, different matters and ongoing and pending projects of Science and Technology were discussed regarding Govt New Criteria for HEC for Improvement of Education Quality.
The government emphasized the quality standards in higher education sector in the light of six parameters and associate KPIs for the standardization. The parameters are:
• Quality of research and innovation and its impact
• University-industry links
• Technology enablement
• Corporate governance
• Community service
• Graduate quality and employability
The federal minister has given the directions to the concerned authority to create the corporate level innovation labs in different university and provide the facilities in the current innovation labs. The minister directed HEC to add the entrepreneurship and exports-led growth and make these courses part of the degree programs in all university so that they can play role in the enhancement of the capacity of the students.
