Govt Discloses Data on Registered Madrassas and Student Enrollment
The government has recently shared comprehensive data on the number of registered madrassas and their student enrollment in the Senate. The report reveals that Pakistan currently has 17,738 registered religious seminaries, with a total of 2,249,520 students enrolled across the country. Regional Breakdown of Madrassas and Enrollment
In Punjab, there are 10,012 madrassas with 664,065 students. Sindh has 2,416 registered seminaries, accommodating 188,182 students. Balochistan hosts 575 seminaries, where 71,815 students are enrolled.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwas Contribution
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands out with 4,005 registered madrassas, serving a significant student population of 1,283,024.
Other Regions and their Madrassas
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, there are 445 madrassas with 26,787 students. Islamabad has 199 registered seminaries with 11,301 students, while Gilgit-Baltistan has 86 madrassas, serving 4,346 students.
