Good News for Math Teachers with Recognized Degrees
In a positive development for mathematics educators, the School Education Department has approved promotion eligibility for teachers holding specific math-related degrees. The students can get the latest updates of Promotion Breakthrough for Math Teachers with Recognized Degrees.
As per the official notification from the departments Equivalence Committee, a Bachelor of Science BS degree in Mathematics will now be treated as a 16-year academic qualification, making its holders eligible for career advancement. Likewise, educators who have earned a two-year MSc in Computational Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics will also qualify for promotions under this new policy.
School Education Department Grants Promotion Eligibility for BS and MSc Mathematics Graduates
Previously, mathematics teachers were excluded from the department’s promotion lists, with many waiting years—sometimes close to a decade—for any professional growth.
Kashif Shehzad, the Provincial President of the Punjab Teachers uni on PTU, praised the move but also called on the authorities to grant the same recognition to BS degree holders in other disciplines to ensure equity across the board.
